Batla House actor Kranti Prakash Jha is flooded with compliments for Batla House!
It was a mere break from IPS preparations which made actor Kranti Prakash Jha decide that he wanted to become an actor. The actor says that once he came to Mumbai, he knew this is what he wanted to do. “Well, man proposes and God disposes. I was studying to be an IPS officer from Delhi University but somehow, I couldn’t get through mains and I was very depressed as these exams are conducted once a year. At that time one of my friends had moved to Mumbai. He is a writer and I have another friend who is a director and one, who is an actor. Everyone suggested that I should come to Mumbai and take a break and that break never ended. I have been doing theatre for a very long time. I did a couple of music videos for Anubhav Sinha’s production house and then I got my first break in movies with ‘Vikalp’ in 2011,” he says.
He adds, “It’s been 13 years that I am in this industry. My friends and my family have been my support system throughout. I might have given probably 500 auditions before getting my first role in ‘Vikalp’,” he says.
Hailing from Bihar, Kranti faced his own set of challenges in the industry. “I had language problems, the dialect and pronunciation were very different from the normal Hindi we speak in Bihar. Life has been very challenging; a roller coaster ride and I am thankful to God for whatever I have today. Main apne bharose aur ishwar main aastha le kar mumbai aaya tha so never thought about how many aspiring actors are coming every day because my faith in myself was stronger than the feeling of challenge which I faced over the period of time. I have had my moments of disappointments and failures but that has only taught me to grow,” he says.
However, the actor is more than satisfied with how his career has turned out. “I am very happy with the way my career has shaped up. Whatever I have done and whatever I will do, it is in my destiny. I am very happy in the space I am in. I definitely want more opportunities to grow as an actor and I am working very hard towards them,” he says.
The actor is getting superb response for Batla House. Talking about the project, he says, “I am playing a sharp, edgy character, who is negative and integral to the story. It is a very different role from what I have done before. One of the reasons that I came on board was Nikhil Advani sir. He is directing it. I really wanted to work with him after watching his work. I am flooded with compliments”
