Following the introduction of Google Assistant early this year, LG is now delivering more choices and options with the addition of Amazon Alexa and Apple AirPlay 2 capabilities to its 2019 TVs with ThinQ AI. Designed to transform the living space with its enhanced connectivity and a more immersive TV viewing experience, the new range includes various models under its SMART, LED, UHD, NanoCell and OLED AI ThinQ Televisions.

LG’s 2019 OLED TV lineup allow users to take voice control one step further with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, available out of the box, making LG the only TV brand to provide support for both leading AI platforms without the need for additional hardware. The new televisions can understand hundreds of voice commands and handle requests of greater complexity than ever before thanks to more advanced LG ThinQ AI conversational voice recognition technology.

Using Alexa Routines, users can link together a series of actions such as controlling their smart  lighting, reporting on the weather, or listening to daily horoscope using skills like GaneshaSpeaks by simply saying ‘Alexa, start my morning.’ They can also play music or listen to audio books and take advantage of over 20,000 Alexa Skills already available on the Alexa Skill Store. With Alexa already built-in, new updates and features for the voice service will continue to be available to LG AI TV users moving forward. The new range is powered with most powerful and advanced second generation α (Alpha) 9 Gen 2 intelligent processor and deep learning technology with which viewers can enjoy upgraded AI picture, AI sound  and AI brightness. The processor also analyzes ambient conditions to achieve the optimal level of screen brightness.

Revealing what is its first all-new product for India in nearly two years, Renault has taken the wraps off of its compact seven-seater, the Triber. Making its global debut in New Delhi, the Renault Triber measures under four metres in length and, barring the Datsun Go+ MPV, is the only sub-four-metre offering in India to get three rows of seats.

Based on a modified version of the Kwid’s CMF-A platform, the Renault Triber is compact and does bear resemblance to the Kwid, but has new headlights, a new grille, a sculpted clamshell bonnet, a squared-off rear section and an upright stance, which is further accentuated by the roof rails. With the Triber, Renault aims to provide a function-over-form design that makes it possible to offer lots of space in the smallest footprint possible. The top-spec variant will sport 15-inch alloy wheels shod in 185/65 tyres.

With the Triber, Renault is looking to play the space card, and for good reason. The French carmaker has managed to liberate a remarkable amount of interior space within a sub-4-metre footprint, and while room in the third row is decent at best, the second row has a good amount of head and leg room. Quality levels are up too, and for those looking for a spacious car that’s also compact, the Triber will be a car of great interest.

The Renault Triber’s interior gets a dual-tone colour scheme, a 3.5-inch LCD screen in the instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is larger than the 7.0-inch unit on the Kwid, Lodgy, Duster and Captur. The infotainment system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with few intelligent functions such as driving-style coaching and driver economy rating. The second row is adjustable horizontally and comes with a reclining and split folding function. There’s a dedicated AC vent for the third row of seats, armrests and charging sockets. The third row can be removed altogether to liberate up to 625 litres of boot space.

The Renault Triber’s safety equipment list includes dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, and a speed warning system as standard. Higher variants of the Triber will get a reverse camera and two more airbags.

Powering the Renault Triber will be an upgraded version of the Kwid’s 1.0-litre (BR10), three-cylinder petrol engine making 72hp and 96Nm of torque. This engine is the same 1.0 SCe petrol motor used in international models like the Renault Clio and Dacia Sandero. The transmission options for the Triber at launch will be a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Renault will also add a turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine to the Triber line-up later.

However, what remains to be seen is how well the Triber’s 1.0-litre petrol engine performs. At 947kg, the Triber is well over 200kg heavier than the Kwid, and its power-to-weight ratio of 76hp-per-tonne is notably lower than the 97hp-per-tonne ratio of the Kwid. Renault has tweaked the 1.0-litre Energy engine’s power delivery and gear ratios for better drivability, but with a full load, the Triber could be left wanting for more power, and that means the turbocharged 1.0-litre engine option will likely be introduced sooner rather than later.

The Renault Triber’s launch in India is set to take place in the coming months, and while there are no direct rivals, the Triber will aim to fight it out with the premium hatchbacks and compact SUVs currently on sale. The Asus 6Z price in India has been set at Rs. 31,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant, Rs. 34,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant, and Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant. The smartphone will go on sale from Flipkart from June 26 – a week from today. It has been launched in Midnight Black and Twilight Silver colour variants.

A transparent phone cover is also bundled with the Asus 6Z. Flipkart’s Complete Mobile Protection (normally costing Rs. 3,999 for flagships) will be priced at Rs. 99, as a launch offer. As we mentioned, the Asus 6Z had first been launched in Spain last month as the Asus ZenFone 6.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Asus 6Z runs on Android Pie with the company’s Zen UI 6 on top, and the company reiterated its promise to upgrade the smartphone to Android Q and Android R (once it’s available). The smartphone is also part of the Android Beta programme. The phone features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) IPS screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 92 percent screen-to-body ratio, 600 nits peak brightness, 100 DCI-P3 colour gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The Asus 6Z is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and Adreno 640 GPU.

The Asus 6Z’s dual camera setup consists of a 48-megapixel primary shooter with an Sony IMX586 sensor, an f/1.79 aperture, a laser focus module, 1.6-micron pixel size (using Quad Bayer tech), and a dual-LED flash module, as well as a 13-megapixel secondary ultra-wide-angle camera (125-degree) with real-time distortion correction to fix the barrel distortion normally seen in wide-angle cameras. The motorised camera, which the company is calling a Flip Camera, rotates vertically to face the user of the phone. Asus says it has opened the Cam2 API on the Asus 6Z, allowing users to utilise third-party camera apps. An HDR Enhanced mode (which combines 16 images) and Super Night Mode have also been added by Asus.

There is up to 256GB of inbuilt storage (UFS 2.1) on the Asus 6Z, expandable using a dedicated microSD card slot (up to 2TB). Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The dimensions of the new Asus phone are 159.1×75.11×8.1-9.1mm and it weighs 190 grams.

The Asus 6Z is also touting the presence of stereo speakers (top and bottom), and a notification LED light. Also being touted is NXP TFA9874 smart amplifier, 2 noise cancelling headphones, Hi-Res Audio support, and DTS Headphone:X support. A Hi-Res Audio supporting headset is bundled in the box.
