Author Jatin Gupta On The Success Of Latest Book Kali Yuga: The Ascension

You really don’t need a big bang release to make it to the bestsellers! If it’s an enticing and inviting book, it will get off the shelves by its own merit! That’s what any upcoming writer can learn from the author of the current popular read Kali Yuga: The Ascension, Jatin Gupta! In a candid Q & A session, the author spoke about his recent fiction release, how he switched from nonfiction to fiction and lots more, excerpts below:

Despite not having a mega launch event, the book is selling like hotcakes. Did you anticipate this kind of response?

We sold 2500 copies of Kali Yuga in one month and honestly, that’s no small feat. That too when it was a year-end release; the time when people are mostly holidaying or busy with families, this book did the numbers. Was I expecting the response? Frankly, Yes, while I was developing this story the book turned out to be nothing like I have ever read before and every time I read it I got goosebumps. That made me feel we have something special in hand.

The Motion Posters of the book have seen a sensational response. How did this happen?

We wanted to approach the book differently and once it was in the publishing process, we took a bold decision to give a visual dimension to many of the characters and scenes of the book. We used these sketches and converted them into 8 motion posters and the trailer for the book. Interestingly the visuals generated fantastic traction leading to close to 2 million+ views, 2500 shares and 25000 reactions across Facebook and Instagram combined.

What is Kali Yuga about?

So Kali Yuga: The Ascension as the name suggests is about Kali Yuga. It is a fantastical take imagined on what Kali Yuga holds for us and how will it happen. It is about how 5 out-cast clans guided by the Immortal Guru Parshuram will come together and usher the many changes in store.

The story, unlike many other stories, is not exactly mythology, the underlying arch is inclined towards fantasy with very few elements from Mythology.

From debuting as an author with Non-Fiction to the recent fiction release, was the transition easy? What was the difference in writing both?

Self-help and management books are fact-based there is very little scope with playing around with the basics of a concept or a premise. This, however, is not the case with fiction, it is an infinite canvas where the limiting factor is the distance till your imagination can go. Personally, I love writing fiction as I can virtually construct worlds in my mind, however, I have realized that I can easily switch genres and that is maybe because of the professional background I have.

When not writing books, what is it that you do?
I am a management professional presently working with a global gaming company named GVC. Prior to this, I was working with an asset management company called Invesco. However predominant part of my professional life was spent with Deloitte in space of management consulting and marketing.

Would we see this book take the shape of a movie?

Honestly, a lot of people in the book circle have told me this is the perfect material for a movie, the presentation is such. But I’ve mounted the book on a large scale and the movie too will have to live up to that to do justice to the story. I’d love to see a big shot filmmaker reach out to me for this book though! (laughs)

ग्रेटर नोएडा- फॉक्सवैगन इंडिया ने ऑटो एक्सपो 2020 में प्रेस के दूसरे दिन अपनी तकनीकी ताकत का अनावरण किया। इस ब्राण्ड ने भारतीय बाजार के लिये फॉक्सवैगन के अनूठे मॉड्यूलर इलेक्ट्रिक ड्राइव मैट्रिक्स (एमईबी) पर आधारित एक संपूर्ण इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन ID. CROZZ का प्रदर्शन किया। इसके अलावा फॉक्सवैगन की प्रतीक और विश्व-विख्यात TSI टेक्नोलॉजी का प्रदर्शन रेस पोलो के माध्यम से किया गया। यह कारलाइन फॉक्सवैगन मोटरस्पोर्ट वन मेक सीरीज में दिखाई देगी।

अनावरण के इस अवसर पर फॉक्सवैगन पैसेंजर कार्स के निदेशक श्री स्टीफन नैप ने कहा, ‘‘हम ID. फॉक्सवैगन विश्वभर में संपूर्ण इलेक्ट्रिक उत्पाद सूची ID. फैमिली का निर्माण कर इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों का अग्रणी प्रदाता बनना चाहता है। ID. का अर्थ ‘आइडेंटिटी’ और ‘आइकॉनिक डिजाइन’ से है और यह एमईबी प्लेटफॉर्म पर आधारित होगी।

श्री नैप ने आगे कहा, ‘‘फॉक्सवैगन ग्रुप विश्वभर में इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों के विकास में 33 बिलियन यूरो का निवेश कर रहा है, जिसका लगभग एक तिहाई निवेश फॉक्सवैगन ब्राण्ड द्वारा किया जा रहा है। ID. मॉडल फैमिली में विभिन्न वर्गों के वाहनों की श्रृंखला है, जोकि हाल ही में प्रस्तुत ID.3 से शुरु होकर ID. स्पेस विज़न तक जाती है। ऐसी विस्तृत इलेक्ट्रिक प्रोडक्‍ट पोर्टफोलियो के साथ फॉक्सवैगन केवल करोड़पतियों को नहीं, बल्कि करोड़ों लोगों को सेवा प्रदान करेगा।’’

ID. CROZZ में फोर-डोर कूप और स्पोर्ट्स यूटिलिटी का मिश्रण है। यह स्पोर्टी, संवादपरक डिजाइन वाली, शून्य-उत्सर्जन वाली, हरफनमौला, पूरी तरह इलेक्ट्रिक ड्राइव वाली है और 225 kW पावर देती है। इस कार की अधिकतम गति 180 कि.मी./घंटा (km/h) है और इसकी बैटरी को एक बार चार्ज करने पर यह 500 किलोमीटर (एनईडीसी) चल सकती है। ID. CROZZ का डिजाइन लैंग्वेज स्पष्ट और शक्तिशाली है और यह दिखने में स्टाइलिश है। जगमगाते पैनोरैमिक रूफ में मूवेबल लाइट इसकी नई विशेषता है, जो भीतर और बाहर अच्छा प्रकाश देती है। यह कार कॉम्पैक्ट, लेकिन खूब जगह वाली है, जिसका श्रेय लोचशील एमईबी प्लेटफॉर्म को जाता है।

एमईबी एक आदर्श प्लेटफॉर्म देता है, इसके चौड़े एक्सल गति को बढ़ाते हैं और यह नये युग की अवंत-ग्रेड डिजाइन का स्प्रिंगबोर्ड है। यह प्लेटफॉर्म मोटरस्पोर्ट के लिये इलेक्ट्रिक रेसिंग कारें भी विकसित कर सकता है।

रेस पोलो को 1.8 लीटर, 4 सिलिंडर TSI इंजिन से शक्ति मिलती है, जो 230 HP का पीक पावर देता है (पुश टू पास एक्टिव) और 3200-4600 RPM पर 320 NM टॉर्क पैदा करता है। इसके अलावा, शक्तिशाली इंजिन में 6-स्पीड वाला सीक्वेंशियल गियरबॉक्स है, जिसका स्लिप डिफरेंशियल सीमित है। यह कार तेजी से गियर बदलने के लिये इलेक्ट्रॉनिक शिफ्ट एक्युएटर का उपयोग करती है और इसके सेफ्टी फीचर्स गियर बदलते समय ड्राइवर की सुरक्षा करते हैं। यह कार मोटरस्पोर्ट सेफ्टी सिस्टम्स के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानकों का पालन करती है और ड्राइविंग का बेजोड़ अनुभव देती है।

While Mercedes-Benz India launched the unique V-Class Marco Polo and Marco Polo HORIZON luxury vehicles in India and showcased the Volocopter which is future of sustainable mobility; MBRDI highlighted the cutting-edge research work on MBUX undertaken in Bangalore and also wrapped up the Hackathon 2019. The Marco Polo was launched in India by Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and together with Manu Saale, Managing Director and CEO, MBRDI; Mercedes-Benz unveiledthe mobility of the future Volocopter. 

The Marco Polo takes its body design from its base vehicle, the V-Class, giving an impression of unexpectedly generous space, and nonetheless showing compact exterior dimensions. Thanks to powerful and efficient engines, the 9G-TRONIC suspension, and high safety standards, the Marco Polo is suitable for long journeys and at the same time, it is easy to drive/handle as a passenger car.

Development story of MBUX (MBRDI):

At the Consumer Electronics Show 2019, Mercedes-Benz launched the new MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) Interior Assist with its CLA Coupé. The intuitive controls system operates in non-contact mode and recognizes gestures and movements to create a smart and seamless experience for the user, both in sunlight and in complete darkness. Software experts from the Infotainment & Connected Car department at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India have played a key role in the development of the MBUX. While the overall product responsibility remained with RD experts from Daimler AG, the end-to-end software chain for the MBUX Interior Assist was successfully developed at the Bangalore RD center.

Volocopter: Urban Air Mobility

The Volocopter wrote history in 2011, when it completed the very first manned flight of an electrically powered multicopter. Since then the German company has demonstrated flights in Dubai, Singapore, and Stuttgart. The pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs), Volocopter builds aircraft that are based on drone technology and carry two people. The company will establish Urban Air Mobility (UAM) in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. The aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. As such Volocopter aims at opening up a completely new dimension to urban mobility. Currently, the company is striving for commercial certification through the European Aviation Safety Authority and expects to open the first commercial routes within two to four years. At the Delhi auto show, a VoloCity 1:3 scale model will be on display.

New Delhi, Jan 05, 2020: MBD group today announced the launch of pre-primary books at the New Delhi World Book Fair January 2020. Infinix to roll out latest OTA for HOT 8, with WhatsApp assistant

Infinix, a premium smartphone brand from TRANSSION Holding group, is rolling out a new Over-the-Air (OTA) update for its bestselling smartphone, the HOT 8. Equipped with power-packed features for greater optimization, the update promises to make the device even more convenient and engaging for users. It includes an update on Google’s latest security patch 20191205 and Google GMS package 201910. With this OTA, the HOT 8 will also be upgraded to XOS v5.5, with several additional functions like Social Turbo, new gestures, and Game Assistant, amongst others.
