Ira Singhal’s Leftover Ka Makeover was a huge success
Besides spending time with their families, everyone has also been making some delicious food during this lockdown. Well, to make this more, Ira Singhal, founder of Kitchen of Flavour, along with the entire kitchen of flavour’s team chef Priyanka, chef Ulka Sntra, chef Harsh Bothra and chef Harshita Aggarwal came up with a rather interesting competition called Leftover Ka Makeover.
Talking about the same, Ira says, “It was a very unique concept. Due to COVID-19, we think of two things; the first is that, due to the lockdown, there is so much leftover food in many houses. The second is that we wanted to do some contribution in PM care Fund also. So we designed an online contest in which the entry fees will be contributed to the PM fund. People are supposed to make any dish from leftover food. This will also give people ideas on how to use this food.”
The initiative was judged by two renowned chefs, chef Ajay Chopra and Chef Ripudaman Handa. Winners of leftover ka makeover are 1st Tripti Mishra, 2nd Uzma Meraj and 3rd is Monika Karhe.
Ira is thrilled to have contributed a sizable amount. “I can proudly say that we have fulfilled our objectives because have we contributed a handsome amount to the PM Care fund through this contest and got some beautiful ideas to use leftover food as well. Some entries were terrific,” she says.
Ira had recently organised A culinary event called Chef of Delhi in the capital city as well. Talking about her future plans, she says, “All future plans depend on the lockdown. I appeal to everyone to please stay at home, stay safe and don’t waste food. After that, we are planning some huge cooking event in different cities.”
